Since the days of Relay (ThruText’s original name), we have shared best practices like identifying yourself to your contacts and including instructions for how they can be opted out of your messaging. In a 10DLC world, doing so is even more important to ensure that your messages get delivered. In response to new requirements from our downstream partners, we’ve created an easy way to build these best practices directly into your ThruText Campaigns.

Adding Opt-Out Language and Sender Identification to All Messages 

Beginning Monday, October 3, ThruText will require that every initial message contain the name of the sending organization as well as opt-out language (e.g., Stop2Quit). You’ll define both of those parameters during step 1 of Campaign creation and then insert them into your initial message just as you would any other variables in step 3.

Making sure this information is part of your messaging lets the wireless carriers know that you’re 10DLC compliant and that you will honor any requested opt-out which will make it less likely that your messages get filtered. Even with these new compliance requirements, though, it is still important to adhere to other initial message best practices like keeping your message succinct and avoiding the inclusion of links to further ensure deliverability.

Election Deadlines - New Account Creation

We wanted to share advance notice about the deadlines to create new accounts hoping to call or text prior to or on Election Day 2022. We strongly encourage you to sign up for any new accounts well in advance in order to allow ample time for account set-up, training, and 10DLC registration for texting. 

To that end, please note the last day to request accounts:

The last day to request a ThruText account will be Friday, November 4. 

The last day to request a Legacy ThruTalk or NewTalk account will be Sunday, November 6.

Early Billing in November

Due to the volume of election-based texting and calling, partial-month invoices are available upon request. Please email us at billing@getthru.io with your preferred invoice receipt date. Any usage that totals more than $3,000 in November will receive a partial-month invoice for usage from Nov. 1 - 15 and a subsequent invoice for any usage after Nov. 15.
